Giving a helping hand to our Older Carers
Caring for anyone with a disability can be a huge and daunting task, even more so for older carers. Older carers often neglect their own personal welfare to provide quality care to their son or daughter.
Statistics state one in eight Australians provides care to a family member or friend who has a disability.
Disability Assistance Packages (DAP) for Older Carers is a respite program for older carers aged 60+, Indigenous cares 45+, who are the primary care giver of a person with a disability. The service will provide in home support, centre based overnight respite, community access/recreation activities, day centre service, emergency respite, holiday services and peer support groups.
